All systems go!
Long set-up times are killers of productivity.Let's say your 9.30am patient has a toothache. After examining them you find they have irreversible pulpits and need a root canal to save the tooth. How long does it take from when the patient says "yes" to when you start work?In a well set up practice that delay can be as little as 5 seconds. In a less well set up practice that delay can be as much as 16 minutes. (Yes, I have been in a practice where it was actually 16 minutes! Hard to believe but true.)Do you have everything needed for common procedures set up, arranged and packaged so you can be ready to go at a moment's notice. Or, does the nurse have to take a trip to the steri area and assemble the needed items from multiple drawers and packets?
